Z-Posts
Like mullions, Z-Posts are permanently attached to the head and sill. However, like astragals, they have kerf grooves for weatherstrip in order to seal the operating doors against the Z-Post. But whereas astragals are designed for doors operating in the same direction (for example both doors are inswing), Z-Posts are used where one door is inswing and the other door (or venting sidelight) are outswing.
Z-Posts are by custom order, and Weston can manufacture them in either laminated finger joint pine, or in LVL.
