Mullions
Mullion posts are used in place of joining (or mulling) two jambs or frames back to back. The most common use is between a door unit and sidelight. Since mullions are often unsupported (and are only fastened to the head or sill) their stability and strength are key factors. This is especially true for mullions on the lock side of the door where there are no hinges to help keep them straight.
Weston supplies mullions in both laminated finger joint pine, and in Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) for added strength. Generally, mullions are manufactured to our customers’ specific profiles.
