Garden Door Posts
These are used in double door systems, and are somewhat of a cross between a mullion and an astragal. In garden door units, one door is permanently attached to the frame. The other door is hinged in the centre, with the hinges being attached to the fixed door unit. The garden post is installed on the exterior, covering where the two doors are joined. Garden posts are profiled with two weatherstrip kerfs which seal up against both the fixed and the operating doors.
Since Garden Door Posts are only attached to the frame at the top and bottom, straightness is critical, and to accomplish this we use either finger joint pine or LVL. Garden Door Posts are also made to customer order.
